Venous insufficiency, varicosity

Varicosity is symptomised by dilated and twisted segments of the superificial veins of the lower limbs, which are visible and palpable through skin.

Varicose veins result from congenital or acquired vein valve failure, which worsens the outflow of blood and increases the hydrostatic pressure of blood in the superifical veins. This may lead to local disturbances of cell nutrition and discoloring, decay and creation of venous ulcers.

Blood vessel inflammation treatments are anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous and increase wall tension.
